Frequently Asked Questions: PA Grand Jury Report - Diocese of Harrisburg

SOUP & SCRIPTURE will be held each Wednesday during Lent at 5:30 p.m. in the Social Hall. A simple meal of soups and breads will be served followed by a reflection on sacred scripture. Bring your own bible to follow along with the scripture readings. All are welcome! There is no cost. On March 27, soups & breads will be provided by the Parish Council and the Choir.  

LENTEN FISH DINNER
- Come and join the Parish community in the Social Hall every Friday through April 12, 5:00-7:00 p.m. Enjoy pub battered North Atlantic cod or oven baked tilapia. Prices are: $9 for adults 13 and older; $5 for children 6-12; children 5 and under eat free! The weekly special for March 22 will be crab meat stuffed flounder for $13, specially prepared for you by our chef.

BEREAVEMENT WEEKEND WORKSHOP - We all experience loss in our own unique way. Healing is an intentional process, where we gather together as a community of faith to become disciples of hope. Grieving With Great HOPE is a weekend grief support workshop for anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one. Those suffering the loss through death of a loved one are invited to join in this weekend workshop hosted by John and Sandy O'Shaughnessy, from Good Mourning Ministry, as we come to see that there are no stages of grief and that we all grieve in our own unique way. This workshop will take place on April 5 & 6 at St. Catherine Laboure Church in Harrisburg. The $20 registration fee includes program materials, breakfast, and lunch. DIOCESAN MEN'S CONFERENCE will be held on Saturday, April 6 at Bishop McDevitt High School. The theme this year is Men Called to be Saints. Dr. John Bergsma, noted Catholic author, speaker, Bible expert, and theology professor will give the keynote address, titled “The Top 3 Reasons I Became Catholic and Always Will Be: Perspectives from a Former Protestant Pastor”. The Conference will include 40+ workshops, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament with benediction, Confession, music, good food, numerous Catholic vendors, Mass with Bishop Gainer as Principal Celebrant and Homilist, and fellowship with up to 1,000 men from the Diocese of Harrisburg and beyond. ANNUAL HDCCW CONVENTION - The Harrisburg Diocesan Council of Catholic Women cordially invites all women of the Diocese to attend the 94th Annual Convention on Saturday, May 11, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Diocesan Center. WERE YOU MARRIED IN 1969? In honor of your 50th Wedding Anniversary, there will be a special Mass and reception at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14 at Good Shepherd Church in Camp Hill. HERSHEYPARK TICKET OFFER - Discount tickets to Hersheypark are available to friends and families of the parish at significant savings! Ticket prices are $35.50 for all ages. You can also add on a discounted meal ticket for 11.99, a snack voucher for $3.50, and/or a discounted parking pass for $7.50. Order form can be found HERE. Please make checks payable to Holy Name of Jesus. Orders with payment must be received in the parish office by Monday, April 29. Tickets will be delivered to the parish no later than May 24.

ST. CHRISTOPHER’S TRAVEL CLUB is planning a trip to the Finger Lakes October 14 to October 17; cost is $550/person (all inclusive).
